The History

John Somers Construction Ltd is a well established builder and contractor in the South East region, and was established in 2005 by John and Geraldine Somers. The Company has grown from a sub-contract firm offering carpentry and joinery services, to a medium sized enterprise turning over in excess €2m Euros in each of the last three years.

We have become highly regarded as a business offering a high quality, reliable and professional service in all areas of building maintenance and construction.

In recent years the Company has focused predominantly on the Local Authority and Government construction markets, with an expansion in segments to include the education sector.

Currently the Company offers construction services including, but not limited to, the construction of new build units encompassing all the associated site and ground works and delivery of services, construction of new school buildings, energy upgrade works to Local Authority housing stock, installation of Document M compliant bathrooms. Adaptations and extensions to existing school buildings, remedial, refurbishment and regeneration works on Local Authority housing stock, renovation works to historic buildings, and routine and emergency maintenance on local authority sites. 

This breadth of experience has allowed John Somers Construction Ltd to build a large team of expert sub-contractors; industry professionals and consultants who have helped enable the business to build a reputation as a reliable provider of high quality projects and services both on time and on budget.

John Somers Construction Ltd have become skilled at managing relationships with all stakeholders and a key attribute is our ability to develop and maintain close working relationships with the client and client representatives, architects and engineers and sub-contractors whilst always considering the needs of any individuals directly affected by any works being carried out.

The Company operates from the Company HQ near Campile, Co. Wexford. The current staff compliment is 17 full time employees and 4 part time employees.

In 2016 we were successful in retaining our registration on the Construction Industry Register of Ireland (CIRI), managed and maintained by the Construction Industry Federation and received, for the fourth year running, nomination for an Excellence Ireland Quality Association (EIQA) award for our processes and quality management systems which are audited annually.

John Somers Construction Ltd will continue to ensure an ethos of continuous improvement and strive to maintain its reputation as service leader in its field.
